Four runners, each completing one section of the Kendal to Preston route. Together, you cover the full 50-mile journey.
From the edge of the Lakes to Lancashire’s canal towpaths, country lanes and changing landscapes, this is an ultra adventure built on teamwork. Choose your runners, plan your handovers and take the journey one leg at a time.
Every runner has a part to play
Changeovers: Carnforth, Galgate and Guy’s Thatched Hamlet. Distances are approximate and will be confirmed with the final 2027 route. The final leg is estimated against the advertised 50-mile total.

Make your handovers count
Only runner one needs to check in and complete kit check at Kendal. Runners two, three and four check in and complete their kit checks at their respective changeover checkpoints.
Each team member is issued their own bib number to wear for their leg. Arrive in time to check in before your incoming runner reaches the changeover.
Your team tracker must be passed to the next runner at each changeover. Make the handover before the next runner heads out on their leg.
Plan how each teammate will reach their start and leave their finish. Follow the final 2027 instructions for checkpoint access, parking, transport options and timing.
Saturday 15 May 2027. Arrive in time for registration and mandatory kit check; final check-in timings will be confirmed.

The journey ends in Preston. The exact 2027 finish venue will be confirmed in the final instructions.
Each relay runner must carry the following kit from the start to the finish of their own leg and complete kit check at their check-in point.
• Waterproof Coat/Jacket with sealed seams
• Spare Long Sleeved Base Layer
• Water Bottle/Bladder with minimum 1 litre capacity
• Fully charged mobile phone
• Foil Blanket
• Whistle
The route combines canal towpaths and connecting road sections, with grass, gravel, concrete, cobbles and tarmac. Take care at road crossings and follow the final route instructions.
The relay follows the Kendal to Preston course. Final 2027 route details, checkpoint arrangements and applicable cut-off times will be provided before race day.
