What cookies and similar technologies do
Cookies are small files stored on your device. Similar technologies can include browser local storage, tracking pixels and scripts that access information on a device. They may support essential functionality, remember choices, measure usage or enable advertising.
What the current site code uses
The current Lancashire Trails page code does not directly set cookies, use local or session storage, or include analytics or advertising scripts. Page controls, such as the image slideshow and menus, work without storing a preference between visits.
This is a statement about the website code reviewed on 23 September 2026, not a claim that the entire hosting service is cookie-free. This website uses a separate hosting service; that service may use cookies for sign-in, security and delivery. The live hosting configuration needs to be checked before launch, including the names, providers, purposes and lifetimes of any cookies it sets.
Fonts, maps, entry forms and photographs
Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser makes requests to Google's font service. An external request is not, by itself, proof that a cookie has been set.
Route videos use the browser’s own video player and are delivered from Wix’s video service. They do not autoplay, and preloading is disabled. Pressing play connects your browser to that service to fetch the film. Poster images are served with this website. No third-party video-player script is embedded.
Entry and change forms, maps and photo galleries currently open through links to external services, including Cognito Forms, Google Maps and Flickr. They are not embedded in these pages. When you follow a link, the destination's own privacy and cookie information applies to its use of your device and information.
Choices and consent
No optional tracking controls have been added to this website because the current site code contains no optional analytics or advertising trackers to enable or disable.
If optional technologies requiring consent are introduced, they must remain off until you choose to allow them. You must be able to reject them and change your choice. Technologies covered by a legal exception need to meet the conditions of that exception; some exceptions require information and an easy way to object.
You can also use your browser settings to view, remove or block cookies. Blocking cookies used for sign-in or security may stop those features working. Browser settings do not replace the website's responsibility to obtain consent where required.
